Supplier Engineer E4 serves as a senior member of the Supplier Engineering & Quality organization, focusing on machining, forging, sheet-metal, and contract manufacturing supply bases. The role involves leading supplier quality, technical development, and operational excellence initiatives to ensure supply chain readiness for semiconductor capital equipment manufacturing. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing processes like CNC machining, heat treatment, laser cutting, and welding; conducting technical audits; and resolving complex issues using 8D, DMAIC, and Root Cause Corrective Action methodologies. The candidate will manage supplier performance plans, support new product introductions, and mentor junior engineers. Required expertise includes mechanical or manufacturing engineering principles, GD&T requirements, and quality systems like PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, APQP, and PPAP. This role addresses critical technical challenges in the production of high-tech components for advanced semiconductor and display technologies.
Act as the primary technical contact for machining, forging, and contract manufacturing suppliers to drive performance improvements.
Assess supplier processes including CNC machining, heat treatment, and sheet-metal fabrication to ensure technical compliance and readiness.
Lead supplier quality improvement initiatives using structured methodologies like 8D, DMAIC, and Root Cause Corrective Action.
Conduct technical audits and manufacturing process evaluations to identify risks and opportunities for operational excellence.
Support new product introductions by evaluating supplier qualification plans, manufacturing processes, and risk mitigation strategies.
Analyze supplier performance metrics to create executive-level dashboards and reports regarding risks and improvement plans.
Develop and implement project plans for supplier capacity expansions and risk reduction activities.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on supplier quality and manufacturing initiatives.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, Quality Engineering, or a related technical field.
7+ years of experience in Supplier Engineering, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, or a related discipline.
