What you'll do

  • Provide engineering support to field personnel during the commissioning and verification of transmission grid work.
  • Review upcoming system outages to identify and implement necessary configuration changes.
  • Verify that systems of record align with as-built conditions by reviewing engineering drawings and project information.
  • Perform root cause analysis on data discrepancies to improve processes and ensure accurate facility ratings.
  • Ensure all grid activities comply with NERC standards and industry regulations.
  • Develop technical reports for management, regulatory bodies, and professional societies.
  • Manage project budgets and schedules using standard techniques like CPM and PERT.
  • Lead and coordinate the work activities of other engineers within the department.

What we're looking for

  • Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology is acceptable if the candidate holds a Professional Engineering (PE) license.
  • Candidates with a non-ABET Bachelor's degree may qualify if they also hold a Master's or PhD from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering examination is encouraged and preferred for entry-level candidates.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in any U.S. state or Puerto Rico is encouraged and preferred.
  • Candidates must possess advanced knowledge to serve as a leader within the organization.
  • Proficiency in scheduling techniques such as CPM, PERT, and flow charts is required for budget and planning activities.
  • Experience in performing root cause analysis and interpreting codes and regulations is required.
