The Structural Test Engineer (Starship) joins the Starship Structural Test team to develop, design, build, and execute large system-level static and dynamic structural tests. What you'll do

Develop and execute large system-level static and dynamic structural tests from conception through completion.
Design, modify, and build mechanical systems ranging from small brackets to large structural weldments.
Design, build, and troubleshoot fluid systems for high-pressure gases, rocket propellants, and hydraulic controls.
Design and troubleshoot data acquisition (DAQ) systems, wiring, and instrumentation including strain gages and pressure transducers.
Develop and maintain test procedures, sequences, scripts, configuration files, and software.
Operate the test stand from assembly and activation through active test execution.
Provide daily direction to technicians for hardware integration, instrumentation installation, and structural repairs.
Review test data manually or using automated scripts to evaluate results.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, or another engineering field.
1+ years of experience with testing, mechanical or data acquisition, and control system design.
Ability to work in high temperatures, at heights up to 500ft, in confined spaces, and operate heavy equipment.
Must be a U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, or eligible for required export control authorizations.
Experience with project ownership under technical and schedule pressure (preferred).
Experience testing and operating with hazardous systems like high pressure, high energy, and hazardous gases (preferred).
Experience integrating electrical, mechanical, and software systems (preferred).
Demonstrated ability to learn new skills and adapt to situations outside of traditional comfort zones (preferred).
