Data & Control Systems Engineer

What you'll do

• Design and build controls infrastructure for ground support equipment used to test and launch the Starship Launch Vehicle.
• Maintain the operational capability of all activated electrical systems with voltage levels below 60V.
• Develop and upgrade data acquisition and control systems across the launch infrastructure.
• Create new automation systems to support evolving launch and test infrastructure requirements.
• Develop new hardware and processes to reduce costs and setup times for electrical systems.
• Analyze data to assess the health and functionality of electrical systems.
• Assist in the design and analysis of experiments to evaluate test articles.
• Provide technical support and guidance to controls technicians and other engineering groups.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in physics, electrical engineering, or computer engineering.
• 6+ months of experience working with data acquisition systems.
• Ability to pass an Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral.
• U.S. citizenship, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee status as required by ITAR.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, crouching, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 25lbs.
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed based on site operational needs.
• Ability to travel to other SpaceX or 3rd party facilities up to 25% of the time.
• Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and troubleshoot data acquisition and control hardware (preferred).
