Staff Systems Engineer, Microsoft Teams

What you'll do

• Define and implement enterprise Microsoft Teams policies, configuration standards, and governance models.
• Manage the end-to-end deployment, optimization, and evolution of the global Teams environment.
• Oversee interoperability between Teams and other Microsoft 365 services like SharePoint, Exchange, and OneDrive.
• Lead problem management, root cause analysis, and resolution for complex technical issues.
• Coordinate with hardware teams to ensure seamless device integration and unified communications standards.
• Manage security features including guest access, data loss prevention (DLP), and compliance capabilities.
• Maximize AI and automation opportunities using Copilot and Graph-based tools to enhance collaboration.
• Oversee vendor and consultant management to ensure high-quality service delivery and technical alignment.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience, Advanced degree with 2+ years, PhD, or 8+ years of relevant work experience.
• Deep expertise in Microsoft Teams architecture, administration, governance, and performance tuning.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 and Exchange.
• Ability to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
• Leadership skills for managing complex incidents and excellent communication skills.
• Experience with Teams Admin Center, PowerShell, Teams Rooms, and governance (preferred).
• Knowledge of collaboration security and compliance tools (preferred).
• Experience integrating Teams with devices, telephony, or holding MS-700/MS-721 certifications (preferred).
