Staff Software Engineer, Email Editing, Fullstack

What you'll do

• Build and operate full-stack features including React frontend components, backend services, and AI capabilities.
• Define technical standards for how customer email content is structured, validated, and versioned.
• Ensure rendering correctness by converting designs into HTML that works across various email clients.
• Develop and refine AI-powered editing tools to allow users to modify content via natural language.
• Lead the migration of legacy systems and data to modern architectures using controlled rollouts.
• Maintain production reliability through logging, metrics, tracing, and active participation in on-call rotations.
• Ensure all products meet high standards for scalability, WCAG accessibility, and global privacy regulations.
• Mentor engineers and author technical design documents to drive large-scale initiatives across teams.

What we're looking for

• 8+ years of professional software development experience, including several years building production web applications at scale.
• Hands-on experience building LLM-powered product features using agent frameworks, prompt design, or evaluation pipelines.
• Deep expertise in TypeScript/JavaScript and React for building complex, state-heavy user interfaces.
• Strong server-side engineering experience in Node.js, PHP, or Python.
• Experience designing, operating, and debugging production APIs with instrumentation, monitoring, and incident response.
• A track record of staff-level technical leadership including driving initiatives across teams and mentoring others.
• Strong testing discipline across unit, integration, and end-to-end levels to maintain large codebases.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with HTML email rendering constraints (preferred).
• Experience building editors or document tooling such as rich-text or visual editors (preferred).
• Experience leading legacy modernization of older frameworks or architectures (preferred).
• Familiarity with high-scale data infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines (preferred).
• Depth in web accessibility (WCAG) beyond the basics (preferred).
• Familiarity with email and privacy regulations like GDPR and CAN-SPAM (preferred).
