Software Engineer, Design Systems

What you'll do

• Build and maintain accessible React and TypeScript components for the Unity library using design tokens and Storybook documentation.
• Develop agentic AI workflows, including Claude Code skills and MCP integrations, to automate design-to-code pipelines.
• Create full-stack supporting services, front-end automation, and CI/CD tooling using Python and Node.js.
• Perform end-to-end quality assurance by writing automated tests and ensuring WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility compliance.
• Act as the primary face of the design system to provide community support, demos, and technical guidance to developers.
• Gather requirements from the developer community and translate them into actionable technical specifications and documentation.
• Contribute to data-visualization capabilities and support features driven by data science requirements.
• Evaluate and pilot new AI development tools and productivity software to improve team workflows.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of experience or a Master’s Degree and 4 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Proficiency in React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS with experience building component libraries and design systems.
• Experience developing agentic AI workflows, including Claude Code skills and AI-assisted developer tooling.
• Full-stack development capabilities using Python and Node.js for services and automation.
• Proficiency with Storybook, GitHub, and accessibility testing tools like Axe to ensure WCAG 2.2 AA compliance.
• Experience building products for a developer-facing audience and performing community outreach or management.
• Ability to work independently to gather requirements, document technical work, and communicate with stakeholders.
• Strong English communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a fast-paced team environment.
