Staff Software Engineer, Cloud Operations

What you'll do

• Develop and implement systems to provide a seamless, scalable public cloud platform.
• Manage compute platform architecture and reliability for IaaS and PaaS environments.
• Maintain core infrastructure tools including Configuration Management, IAM, WAF, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Manage public cloud environments like GCP and AWS using Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Translate application requirements from Engineering and Product teams into infrastructure capabilities.
• Implement SRE methodologies and automation to increase system reliability and decrease manual toil.
• Participate in technical design discussions and contribute to troubleshooting across the full stack.

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of experience in a web-centric Linux production environment building and architecting infrastructure to scale modern web applications.
• Strong understanding of Computer Engineering focusing on Infrastructure, Platform, Application, Containerization, Network, and Database Architecture.
• Demonstrable knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, web application security, and experience supporting multi-tier web application architectures.
• Experience running Infrastructure at scale using Configuration Management and automation to ensure idempotency, ephemerality, and reliability.
• Professional knowledge of Python, Go, or other higher-level OOP languages.
• Professional experience with Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, and CI/CD toolsets.
• Familiarity with SRE methodologies and a passion for solving operational problems using automation and software.
• Ability to communicate effectively vertically and horizontally within the organization via demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
