Staff Software Development Engineer

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain backend microservices using Java, JEE, and Spring Boot.
• Implement event-driven patterns using Apache Kafka for producers, consumers, and schema evolution.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines including unit testing, static analysis, and progressive delivery.
• Deploy and operate cloud-native services on Google Cloud Platform using GKE or Cloud Run.
• Integrate backend services with EHR systems using HL7 v2, FHIR, and SMART on FHIR standards.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, data governance, and security requirements for data at rest and in transit.
• Diagnose production issues and perform root cause analysis to drive long-term reliability improvements.
• Implement observability through structured logging, metrics, and tracing for proactive monitoring.

What we're looking for

• 7+ years of professional software development experience with Java/JEE and Spring Boot.
• 5+ years of experience building RESTful microservices, distributed systems, and JSON data modeling.
• 5+ years of practical experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerized workloads (Docker; Kubernetes preferred).
• 3+ years of experience operating production services in cloud environments, preferably GCP.
• 3+ years of experience with Kafka or similar event-streaming platforms.
• 3+ years of experience with security fundamentals including OAuth2/OIDC, TLS, and secrets management.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience).
• Experience in healthcare, regulated systems, or large-scale data integration platforms (preferred).
