The Radio Frequency Hardware Engineer (Staff Up To Principal) serves as a technical leader within the Cellular Technologies engineering group. This role involves defining RF system and hardware architecture, technology strategy, and execution for advanced wireless platforms. The engineer will lead the development of complex RF solutions from concept through full prototype, driving critical architectural decisions and resolving system-level issues involving RF, antenna, modem, software, and algorithm interactions. Key responsibilities include designing and validating subsystems like power amplifiers, low-noise amplifiers, front-end modules, filters, duplexers, phased arrays, mixers, and synthesizers. The position requires expertise in signal processing, antenna systems, and cross-domain integration to solve problems for 5G Advanced and 6G technologies. Core competencies include system modeling, nonlinear behavior analysis, and waveform-to-hardware co-optimization.
Define and lead RF system architecture for advanced wireless platforms and next-generation products.
Drive partitioning and tradeoff analysis across RF hardware, RFIC, antenna, modem, and software domains.
Lead the design, integration, and optimization of complex RF subsystems like PAs, LNAs, and phased arrays.
Develop and validate advanced RF system models and simulation environments to analyze nonlinear behavior.
Lead RF bring-up, debugging, characterization, and system validation activities for new hardware.
Identify and develop new RF technologies and support research initiatives for proof-of-concept demonstrations.
Contribute to wireless standards development and technical proposals for future system requirements.
What we're looking for
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field and 8+ years of relevant industry experience.
Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related discipline and 5+ years of industry or post-doctoral experience.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 4+ years of Electrical, Hardware, or Systems Engineering experience.
Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 3+ years of Electrical, Hardware, or Systems Engineering experience.
PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 2+ years of Electrical, Hardware, or Systems Engineering experience.
Expertise in RF hardware, RF system design, wireless communications, signal processing, antenna systems, and cross-domain integration.
