The Staff Project Management role within the Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems team involves identifying, orchestrating, and controlling program management activities for an Integrated Product Team. The successful candidate will oversee cost and schedule performance for complex technical projects, developing budget baselines using Earned Value Management processes. Daily responsibilities include managing discrete work packages, providing weekly status updates for IMS tasks, and executing technical performance baselines to satisfy contractual requirements. The role requires managing Taskable Engineering and proposal development while serving as a liaison between project management, planning, and line management. Key tools and skills include PowerPoint, SharePoint, JIRA, Excel, and experience with Risk, Issue, and Opportunity processes. This position addresses the technical challenge of managing multi-disciplinary engineering programs and ensuring the timely delivery of Contractual Deliverable commitments.
Orchestrate and control program management activities for the Integrated Product Team (IPT).
Oversee cost and schedule performance for complex technical projects across various systems.
Develop and maintain budget baselines using Earned Value Management (EVM) processes.
Execute cost, schedule, and technical performance baselines to satisfy contractual requirements.
Manage the Risk, Issue, and Opportunity (RIO) process to proactively address project challenges.
Lead the execution of Contractual Deliverable (CDRL) commitments to ensure on-time customer delivery.
Manage Taskable Engineering (TE) and proposal development, including writing responses and collaborating with pricing teams.
Drive action item adjudication and monitor project progress using tools like JIRA, SharePoint, and Excel.
What we're looking for
Must have a Bachelor’s degree and 12 years of experience, a Master’s degree and 10 years of experience, or a PhD and 8 years of experience.
Experience must be in Engineering, Project/Program Management, Sustainment, Proposals, Resource Planning, Contracts, Subcontracts, or Business Management.
Must have Control Account Manager (CAM) experience and Project Management experience.
Must have experience using Microsoft Office.
Must possess an active U.S. Government Top Secret clearance with a background investigation within the past 5 years or be enrolled in Continuous Evaluation.
Must be able to obtain and maintain initial and upgraded Special Access Program (SAP) access via a Program Access Request (PAR).
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Experience providing project management support or performing technical work on engineering programs (preferred).
Current applicable Special Access Program (SAP) clearance (preferred).
Program Management Professional (PMP) Certification (preferred).
Control Account Manager (CAM) Certification (preferred).
Proven leadership abilities to manage and oversee multi-disciplinary teams in numerous geographical locations (preferred).
Project integration experience (preferred).
Proposal writing experience (preferred).
Experience autonomously assessing complex problems and coordinating across diverse teams of SMEs (preferred).
