Staff Enterprise Architect

What you'll do

• Define and lead target-state architecture, standards, and transition plans for a scalable, compliant IT ecosystem.
• Establish high-level architecture principles, guardrails, and decision frameworks to guide technology direction across multiple domains.
• Partner with stakeholders in cybersecurity, manufacturing, and engineering to align on technical requirements and architectural decisions.
• Analyze technical trade-offs and evaluate implementation alternatives to balance compliance, scalability, and speed of delivery.
• Manage the application inventory, classification, and migration planning for all GM Defense platforms.
• Develop architecture roadmaps to reduce operational friction in regulated environments like Fed Zone or LLC.
• Lead architectural efforts specifically focused on security, data protection, and access management for regulated systems.
• Serve as a strategic expert to translate high-level business strategies into actionable technical execution plans.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, systems design, or senior IT architecture roles.
• Experience defining end-to-end architectures for complex enterprise solutions including application, integration, infrastructure, and security.
• Experience establishing architecture direction, standards, guardrails, and technology roadmaps across business or technical domains.
• Experience architecting or governing secure environments with strict identity, access, network, data protection, and compliance requirements.
• Experience in regulated or government-contract environments such as defense or aerospace industries.
• Knowledge of government cybersecurity and compliance frameworks including CMMC, DFARS, and NIST SP 800-171.
• Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, asylee, or refugee) due to export control restrictions.
