Staff Engineer, Customer Interfaces

What you'll do

• Build Generative UIs that adapt in real-time to create streaming, multi-modal conversational experiences.
• Manage backend orchestration for Agentic Workflows, including Tool-use, Chains, and Policy Layers.
• Architect security layers for conversational interfaces to maintain Zero Trust principles and financial data privacy.
• Partner with product leadership to identify high-impact flows and solve complex merchant problems through intelligent automation.
• Own the end-to-end technical lifecycle from backend services and data pipelines to frontend components.
• Act as the primary technical liaison for AI initiatives to ensure operational excellence across global teams.
• Mentor engineers and establish technical standards for intelligent modules across the global ecosystem.

What we're looking for

• You must be able to work from the San Francisco office as this is an office-first role.
• You must have experience building production-grade interfaces powered by LLMs, including RAG architectures and secure data handling.
• You must be deeply proficient in Java for secure backend services.
• You must be deeply proficient in TypeScript, React, and Vue for complex front-end applications.
• You must have a track record of partnering with product teams to turn ambiguous goals into robust technical reality.
• You must have a "security-by-design" mindset regarding the handling of sensitive financial data.
• You must have experience managing backend orchestration, specifically Tool-use, Chains, and Policy Layers.
