As a Staff, Customer Engineering (CE) – Server Processor Platforms, you will join the Hardware Applications Engineering group to enable next-generation server processor platforms. You will serve as the primary technical interface for strategic customers, including hyperscalers, OEMs, and ODMs, driving adoption from concept through mass production. Your daily responsibilities include reviewing customer schematics, PCB layouts, thermal designs, and power delivery networks while supporting SoC interface validation. You will utilize tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and BERTs to debug high-speed interfaces including DDR5, PCIe Gen6/Gen7, CXL, SerDes, and Ethernet. You must navigate complex system firmware interactions involving UEFI, BMC, and BIOS. This role solves critical hardware integration challenges by ensuring customer system designs meet rigorous performance, reliability, and interoperability standards like OCP and JEDEC.
Provide hardware support for strategic customers adopting server processor SoCs.
Act as the primary technical interface for customer hardware teams during design, bring-up, and deployment.
Review customer schematics, PCB layouts, thermal designs, power delivery networks, and signal integrity plans.
Support SoC interface validation and debug for DDR, PCIe, CXL, and Ethernet.
Identify design gaps and propose practical solutions or mitigations to internal and external teams.
Develop and deliver technical documentation, training, and onboarding materials for customer enablement.
Drive continuous improvement of support processes and infrastructure to scale customer engagements.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of Hardware Applications Engineering or Hardware Design experience.
Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of Hardware Applications Engineering or Hardware Design experience.
PhD in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Hardware Applications Engineering or Hardware Design experience.
6+ years of Hardware Applications Engineering or Hardware Design experience in server platform design, bring-up, or customer-facing technical roles (preferred).
Prior experience supporting hyperscalers, OEMs, or ODMs in server hardware deployment (preferred).
Deep understanding of high-speed board design principles including DDR5, PCIe Gen6/Gen7, CXL, SerDes, Ethernet, PDN design, SI/PI simulation, and EMI/EMC mitigation (preferred).
Experience with system bring-up and debug tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and BERTs (preferred).
Familiarity with system firmware (UEFI, BMC, BIOS), programming/scripting (Python, shell), and server platform compliance standards (preferred).
