As a Principal Customer Engineering (CE) Lead – Server Processor Platforms, you will join the Hardware Applications Engineering team to serve as a technical interface between strategic customers—including hyperscalers, OEMs, and ODMs—and internal product teams. You will drive customer adoption of server SoCs from concept through mass production while providing high-level technical support. Your daily responsibilities include reviewing customer schematics, PCB layouts, thermal designs, and power delivery networks. You will also perform SoC interface validation and debug across DDR, PCIe Gen6/Gen7, CXL, and Ethernet. Key skills required include expertise in SI/PI simulation, firmware interactions like UEFI and BIOS, and proficiency with tools such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers. Additionally, you will utilize Python or shell scripting for automation while navigating complex server platform requirements including OCP, JEDEC, and PCI-SIG standards to ensure high performance and reliability.
Act as the primary technical interface for customer hardware teams during design, bring-up, validation, and deployment phases.
Perform detailed reviews of customer schematics, PCB layouts, thermal designs, power delivery networks, and signal integrity plans.
Support SoC interface validation and debug across high-speed interfaces including DDR, PCIe Gen6/Gen7, CXL, and Ethernet.
Identify gaps in design expectations and propose practical solutions or mitigations to address technical challenges.
Create high-quality technical documentation, training materials, and onboarding content for customer enablement.
Drive the continuous improvement of support processes and infrastructure to scale across customer engagements.
Shape the future structure and priorities of the server Customer Engineering team as a technical leader.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and 8+ years of Hardware Applications Engineering or Hardware Design experience.
Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and 7+ years of Hardware Applications Engineering or Hardware Design experience.
PhD in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and 6+ years of Hardware Applications Engineering or Hardware Design experience.
Experience with high-speed interfaces including DDR5, PCIe Gen6/Gen7, CXL, SerDes, and Ethernet (preferred).
Experience with system bring-up tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and BERTs (preferred).
Familiarity with system firmware such as UEFI, BMC, and BIOS during hardware validation (preferred).
Programming or scripting experience in Python or shell to aid automation or debug (preferred).
Experience with AI/ML, HPC, or cloud workload requirements on server platforms (bonus).
