The Principal Customer Engineering (CE) Lead – Server Processor Platforms joins the Hardware Applications Engineering group to enable next-generation server processor platforms. As a founding member of a new server CE team, you will serve as the primary technical interface for hyperscalers, OEMs, and ODMs during design, bring-up, validation, and deployment phases. You will perform detailed reviews of schematics, PCB layouts, thermal designs, and power delivery networks while supporting SoC interface validation for DDR, PCIe Gen6/Gen7, CXL, and Ethernet. You must utilize tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and BERTs while applying knowledge of SI/PI simulation, EMI/EMC mitigation, and firmware interactions like UEFI and BMC. This role solves complex hardware integration challenges to ensure customer system designs meet high performance and reliability standards.
Lead hardware support for strategic customers adopting server processor SoCs.
Act as the primary technical interface for customers during design, bring-up, validation, and deployment.
Review customer schematics, PCB layouts, thermal designs, power delivery networks, and signal integrity plans.
Support SoC interface validation and debug for DDR, PCIe Gen6/Gen7, CXL, and Ethernet.
Identify design gaps and propose practical solutions or mitigations for customer and internal teams.
Deliver technical documentation, training, and onboarding materials for customer enablement.
Drive continuous improvement of support processes and infrastructure to scale customer engagements.
Shape the future structure and priorities of the server Customer Engineering team.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and 8+ years of Hardware Applications Engineering or Hardware Design experience.
Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and 7+ years of Hardware Applications Engineering or Hardware Design experience.
PhD in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and 6+ years of Hardware Applications Engineering or Hardware Design experience.
10+ years of experience in server platform design, bring-up, or customer-facing technical roles (preferred).
Deep understanding of high-speed board design principles including DDR5, PCIe Gen6/Gen7, CXL, SerDes, and Ethernet (preferred).
Experience with system bring-up and debug tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and BERTs (preferred).
Familiarity with system firmware (UEFI, BMC, BIOS) interactions during hardware validation (preferred).
Programming or scripting experience in Python or shell to aid automation or debug (preferred).
