As a Staff AI Scientist - Business Platform, you will join a collaborative group of AI scientists and machine learning engineers to build and deploy models that directly drive product experiences. You will own the architecture of AI systems that leverage proprietary data, leading research workstreams to produce publications and technology transfers. Your daily work involves designing AI-first and agentic systems, crafting robust evaluation strategies, and creating reusable data assets. You must apply expertise in ML paradigms like Causal-ML, Reinforcement Learning, and Deep Learning using Python, Scala, Java, or R, alongside SQL, Hive, and SparkSQL. You will solve complex problems by framing customer needs into scalable technical solutions, managing multi-stage agent pipelines, and establishing data-quality standards to reduce low-quality AI output through oversight and guardrails.

What you'll do

  • Build and deploy AI systems that leverage proprietary data to drive product experiences.
  • Architect multi-stage agent pipelines and reusable agent-driven infrastructure.
  • Create reusable, versioned data assets and establish data-quality standards.
  • Craft robust evaluation strategies including adversarial and edge-case coverage.
  • Lead research workstreams to produce publications and transfer technology to product teams.
  • Frame customer problems and design end-to-end scalable technical solutions.
  • Orchestrate complex initiatives by sequencing dependencies and managing technical risks.
  • Coach engineers on breaking down work into tasks for reliable AI agent execution.

What we're looking for

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Operations Research, or equivalent work experience.
  • 7+ years of industry experience with AI/data science.
  • 7+ years hands-on expertise in ML paradigms including Causal-ML, supervised/unsupervised, Online, Bayesian, Reinforcement, and Deep Learning.
  • Proficiency in multiple optimization paradigms, NLP techniques, explainable AI, and ML frameworks.
  • Expertise in Python, Scala, Java, and/or R; efficient in SQL/Hive/SparkSQL; comfortable in Linux.
  • Experience building end-to-end reusable pipelines from data acquisition to model output delivery.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
