As a Staff AI Scientist on the Consumer Group AI Team, you will provide technical leadership by driving end-to-end model architecture and aligning model metrics with business goals. The role requires proficiency in Python, Scala, Java, or R, along with SQL, Hive, and SparkSQL skills within Linux environments. You will build reusable pipelines and utilize optimization techniques like combinatorial, gradient-based, and Bayesian methods for customer-facing applications.

What you'll do

  • Lead the design and implementation of end-to-end model architectures.
  • Align technical model metrics with specific business goals and success criteria.
  • Perform hands-on data analysis, ETL, and feature engineering on large datasets.
  • Apply NLP, deep learning, and recommender systems to solve real-world problems.
  • Design and execute A/B tests to measure impact for leadership.
  • Mentor other AI Scientists and provide technical direction to the team.
  • Evaluate new machine learning techniques for customer-facing applications.

What we're looking for

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Operations Research, or a related quantitative field.
  • 4+ years of industry experience in AI Science or Machine Learning (Masters + 5 years or PhD + 3 years).
  • Experience with optimization techniques including combinatorial, gradient-based, and Bayesian methods.
  • Expertise in NLP and Explainable AI.
  • Proficiency in Python, Scala, Java, and/or R.
  • Strong SQL, Hive, SparkSQL skills and comfort working in Linux environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to build reusable, end-to-end ML pipelines with a focus on scalability.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical work to both technical and non-technical audiences.
