As an SRE Systems Engineer (TS/SCI Clearance), you will join the Site Reliability Engineering team to ensure the continuous availability of cloud services. You will work alongside Infrastructure and Research & Development partners to detect and resolve Sev0 and Sev1 incidents, conduct technical reviews, and perform root cause analyses. Your daily responsibilities include automating the resolution of recurring production issues, participating in destructive testing, and leading game day exercises to improve system resilience. The role requires expertise in TCP/IP networking, Unix variants like Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and ITIL service operations. You will utilize Python or Go for scripting, manage AWS infrastructure, and potentially use tools like Chef, Puppet, Jenkins, or Spinnaker. Additionally, you will support Kubernetes-based applications to maintain high availability for critical customer-facing services in a 24/7 environment.

What you'll do

  • Monitor customer-facing services and respond to high-priority Sev0 and Sev1 incidents.
  • Lead technical reviews and contribute to Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) for production issues.
  • Automate the detection and resolution of recurring production problems to reduce operational toil.
  • Execute compliance, resiliency, and self-healing initiatives including destructive testing and game day exercises.
  • Manage and maintain infrastructure for cloud services in a 24/7 environment.
  • Develop scripts in Python or Go to automate system operations and infrastructure management.
  • Provision and operate infrastructure within Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments.
  • Mentor team members on industry technologies and drive internal team development.

What we're looking for

  • Must be a U.S. citizen (U.S. born or naturalized) who does not hold dual citizenship.
  • Must possess a TS/SCI with Polygraph security access level.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in enterprise-scale internet service engineering or support.
  • Strong Command Line Interface (CLI) knowledge of Unix variants including Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
  • Expertise in TCP/IP networking technologies and protocols.
  • Demonstrated experience with incident management and ITIL service operations in a 24/7 environment.
  • Proficiency writing scripts in Python, Go, or similar languages to provision and operate AWS infrastructure.
