As a Sr. Specialist, Systems Engineer - Reliability, you will join the Missile Propulsion Systems Engineering and Integration team to support critical national defense and space missions. You will perform reliability and safety analyses across a diverse product portfolio, including developing FMECAs, reliability predictions, subsystem hazard analyses, and range safety assessments. Your daily work involves providing actionable design recommendations, creating reliability test plans for new products, and performing Probabilistic Risk Assessments and fault tree analyses to address product anomalies. The role requires expertise in reliability engineering techniques, the application of MIL-STD-882E, and knowledge of solid rocket motor systems. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with safety standards while integrating reliability principles into design processes for advanced propulsion and energetics systems including rocket motors.
Develop and maintain reliability and safety models including FMECAs and subsystem hazard analyses.
Perform reliability predictions and range safety assessments for various systems.
Provide actionable recommendations to engineering teams to improve product reliability and safety.
Design and implement reliability test plans for new products and processes.
Analyze test anomalies and ensure adherence to quality standards using reliability engineering techniques.
Conduct Probabilistic Risk Assessments and lead fault tree analyses related to product anomalies.
Drive program compliance with Reliability and System Safety procedures and standard work requirements.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline and at least 4 years of Reliability System Safety experience.
Graduate degree and at least 2 years of Reliability System Safety experience.
At least 8 years of Reliability System Safety experience in lieu of a degree.
Active US Secret Security Clearance.
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline (preferred).
Advanced degree in a related field (preferred).
Technical experience in aerospace or defense sectors including reliability analysis, FMECAs, PFMECAs, and MIL-STD-882E application (preferred).
