Specialist, Reliability and Systems Safety Engineer joins the Missile Propulsion Systems Engineering and Integration team to support advanced propulsion and energetics systems, including rocket motors. This role involves performing reliability and safety analyses across a diverse product portfolio to ensure compliance with safety standards. Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining FMECAs, reliability predictions, subsystem hazard analyses, and range safety assessments. The engineer will also perform Probabilistic Risk Assessments, lead fault tree analyses for product anomalies, design reliability test plans, and provide actionable recommendations to integrate reliability principles into the design process. Required expertise includes experience with MIL-STD-882E, FMECAs, PFMECAs, and reliability engineering techniques. Candidates should possess a background in mechanical or aerospace engineering and knowledge of solid rocket motor systems while working on critical national defense and space missions.
Develop and maintain reliability and safety models including FMECAs and subsystem hazard analyses.
Perform reliability predictions and range safety assessments for various systems.
Provide actionable recommendations to engineering teams to improve product reliability and safety.

What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree with 4 years of experience, a graduate degree with 2 years of experience, or no degree with 8 years of reliability and safety experience.
Ability to obtain a US Secret security clearance.
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline (preferred).
Advanced degree in a related field (preferred).
Active US Secret Security Clearance (preferred).
Experience in aerospace or defense sectors including reliability analysis, FMECAs, PFMECAs, and MIL-STD-882E application (preferred).
Formal coursework in Reliability Engineering (preferred).
