Senior Software Engineer, Terraform Foundations

What you'll do

• Lead work on release pipelines, canary signals, and verification to ensure safe production deployments.
• Develop self-service tools and safer processes for application team database migrations.
• Drive deep observability for foundational services by managing SLOs, alerting, and log delivery.
• Design and deliver technical improvements for Aurora PostgreSQL, Redis, Sidekiq, and Puma.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and serve as a senior escalation point for incidents.
• Lead incident reviews to identify and implement systemic fixes for production failures.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, pairing, and design feedback.
• Present technical direction and project outcomes to both technical and non-technical audiences.

What we're looking for

• 8+ years of production experience in SRE, production engineering, or software engineering for large-scale SaaS platforms.
• Hands-on experience building and operating release and deployment pipelines, including progressive delivery, canaries, and rollback.
• Strong observability experience with metrics, tracing, logging, SLOs, and alerting for distributed systems.
• A track record of leading complex, cross-team technical initiatives to completion.
• Clear, empathetic communication and a commitment to blameless, learning-focused practices.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails applications and PostgreSQL (preferred).
• Experience with Go services, Redis, and Sidekiq (preferred).
• Familiarity with cell-based architectures, multi-region deployments, and regulated environments like FedRAMP (preferred).
