The Software Engineer II joins the HCP Terraform Foundations group to ensure the platform remains reliable, performant, and robust. What you'll do

Build and improve release pipeline tooling, canary signals, and verification for production safety.
Develop and maintain database migration safety tooling.
Build and maintain dashboards, SLOs, and alerts for foundational services.
Ensure logs and telemetry reach the observability platform.
Deliver performance improvements for Aurora PostgreSQL, Redis, Sidekiq, and Puma.
Investigate performance bottlenecks and orchestration issues across multiple services.
Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and contribute to blameless incident reviews.
Improve runbooks, onboarding, and documentation through code reviews and knowledge sharing.

What we're looking for

3+ years of production experience in SRE, production engineering, release engineering, or backend engineering for SaaS platforms.
Experience working with release or deployment pipelines (CI/CD).
Experience with observability including metrics, logging, alerting, and dashboards.
Ability to work independently, prioritize work, and deliver high-quality results on time.
Clear, empathetic communication skills and an eagerness to learn.
Experience with Ruby on Rails applications and PostgreSQL (preferred).
Experience with Go services, Redis, and Sidekiq (preferred).
Familiarity with cell-based architectures, multi-region deployments, and FedRAMP compliance (preferred).
