What you'll do

Take end-to-end ownership of projects within the Screening Engine from design through deployment and monitoring.
Design and evolve fault-tolerant, high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems for regulatory scrutiny.
Improve matching algorithm effectiveness and precision using data and benchmarking.
Manage database design, query optimization, and schema evolution for relational and non-relational stores.
Contribute to the technical and product roadmap for Sanctions, PEP, and Adverse Media screening.
Lead code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain high engineering standards.
Mentor team members and share knowledge to grow the capabilities of those around you.
Collaborate with compliance, risk, and operations teams to solve cross-cutting problems.

What we're looking for

Solid experience with Java and the Spring framework to build production-grade microservices.
Experience with asynchronous messaging systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SQS in high-throughput environments.
Strong understanding of RESTful API design, versioning, and operational concerns.
Hands-on experience with both relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and non-relational databases including schema design and query performance.
Ability to own the full lifecycle of a service including design, testing, deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
Experience in compliance, financial crime, or risk-adjacent engineering domains (preferred).
Familiarity with string matching, fuzzy search, or entity resolution algorithms (preferred).
Experience designing for regulatory requirements such as audit logging, explainability, and data retention (preferred).
