We are expanding our LatAm teams by establishing a new São Paulo engineering hub, building new, high-impact teams on the ground. • Conduct rigorous code and design reviews, providing constructive feedback to maintain and elevate our engineering standards globally.
• Implement integrations with local banks, payment providers, identity/business verification vendors, and financial partners across the region.
• Automate and improve onboarding workflows and compliance checks (KYC/KYB) for different customer types.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and engineers in our other global offices, to align on product vision and technical implementation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring the stability and performance of our systems.
• Contribute to the technical strategy and roadmap for your area of ownership within the Brazil Regional team.

About the Team: Servicing Platform
At Wise, the Servicing Platform team is on a mission to build the most effective way to manage risks for our customers and partners. We work to ensure that transactions and customer actions are compliant and aligned with regulatory requirements, enabling money to move without borders while staying within our risk appetite.

Our platform provides a seamless, efficient, plug-and-play risk assessment and management solution. What does it take?

Finance drives financial accounting, business monitoring and representing Wise financials to board, investors, regulators and auditors. The team you will be joining: Risk Assessment Platform

The team's mission is to provide a reliable, efficient, and centralized platform for all data points used in risk assessments. We own the feature lifecycle tracks from finding, experimenting, and building data points to using them throughout risk control and handling use cases. We allow risk teams to build better performing controls by continuously improving labels, discovering new fincrime typologies or adopting new technologies. Our focus is on creating the necessary tools and procedures that support these activities.

As a Backend Engineer, your job will be to provide technical assistance and guidance to Wise's data engineering and machine learning community, taking ownership of difficult technical problems.

• 5+ years of Java 11+ knowledge (and willingness to quickly learn python)

As a Backend Engineer, your job will be to provide technical assistance and guidance to Wise's data engineering and machine learning community, taking ownership of difficult technical problems.

In order to succeed, you’ll need to be able to participate in the vision for data engineering through documents and conversations, get buy-in from stakeholders and leadership, communicate well in different levels of complexity and create and review pull requests.

What does it take?  

• 5+ years of Java 11+ knowledge (and willingness to quickly learn python)

• Experience with batch OR stream processing (preferably Apache Spark and Flink/Kafka streams)  

• Experience with complex systems distributed across several microservices, kafka, scattered data and ownership

• Willingness to contribute in UI-related projects

• A strong product mindset and passion for user experience, you prioritise work with the customers in mind and  make data-driven decisions to fix customer pain-points

• Strong problem-solving skills to help refine problem statements and figure out how to solve them with the available data and from first principles

• Ability to drive complex technical decisions and get buy-in from stakeholders, take ownership of difficult decisions, pushing back against bad ideas

• Hands on knowledge of system integration patterns

This team is responsible for Wise's critical rules engine, which includes the tool used to manage our risk assessment rules.

We are expanding our Latin American teams by establishing a new São Paulo engineering hub, building multiple new, high-impact engineering teams on the ground. Job Description

What you’ll be doing

As an IAM Engineer, you’ll ensure our identity and access management is fit for purpose, support our global Support teams, and help Wise scale. You’ll work closely with our Security team to respond to incidents and support audits involving access management. The IAM team partners with teams across Wise to scale our internal systems—keeping them secure and user‑friendly—so everyone can move without obstacles.

• Design, implement, and operate identity lifecycle and access governance (IAG): joiner/mover/leaver, role-based access control (RBAC) and least privilege, access reviews and certifications.

• Build automation and internal tooling (Python preferred) to improve process efficiency and reduce manual work.
• Define and maintain policies for MFA, device posture, and conditional access; ensure authentication and authorisation follow best practice.
• Collaborate with Security on incident response and investigations; support audits and evidence collection related to access management.
• Create and maintain clear documentation, runbooks, and diagrams; participate in disaster recovery (DR) planning and exercises.
• Propose and implement improvements, modify configurations, and update internal tools through code review, change control, and CI/CD.
• Enable Support teams globally with training, playbooks, and tooling; act as an escalation point for complex issues.
• Work closely with Technicians, Engineers, and Delivery Managers to implement security policies according to best practice.

Qualifications

The experience you’ll need:

• Proficiency in at least one programming language and scripting (Python preferred) to automate IAM workflows and integrations.

• Hands-on experience with an enterprise IdP (Okta preferred) and modern authentication/authorisation standards (SAML, OIDC/OAuth2, SCIM).

• Experience operating IAM at scale, including lifecycle automation and access governance.
• Strong communicator who can drive cross‑team projects, ask the right questions, and bring work to completion.
• Ownership mindset, curiosity, and a problem‑solving approach.
• Typically 3+ years of relevant IAM/IT engineering experience, or equivalent practical experience. We value skills and impact over years.

Bonus skills / experience:

• DevOps practices (Git, CI/CD, observability) and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform); configuration as code for identity systems.
• Low/no‑code automation platforms (e.g., Okta Workflows, Workato, Zapier) and iPaaS patterns.
• Privileged access management (PAM) and secrets management.
• Experience with audits and compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, SOX)
• Relevant certifications

About the role:

We are the Global KYC and Onboarding squad in the Servicing department and we have a mission: to enable teams at Wise to expand and fine-tune the business in a "config change" manner all across the globe, while remaining compliant and safe for the customers. There are three teams in the squad: Business Onboarding Verification, Personal Onboarding Verification and Wise Platform Verification (this is our B2B platform).

What will you be working on?

The current KYC infrastructure has served us well for many years, but we are approaching its scalability limits. For the past few quarters we’ve been busy building a brand new infrastructure, the Onboarding Platform. In collaboration between the teams in the squad and sister teams in other squads, we’ve iteratively launched some of the key components already, but there are still many challenges ahead.

The teams are fully stacked cross-functionally, with ownership spanning across owning FinCrime Controls end-to-end: when they trigger, what they require, the UX of collection and recovery, automation (with in-house ML and external vendors), manual reviews and finally enabling relevant capabilities for customers in the product. We have dedicated Analysts, Designers, Data Scientists and Engineers. We need a very strong Engineering partner to act across the teams and functions in the squad to expedite the work on the Onboarding Platform.

What do you need?

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with significant experience in Java or other JVM-based languages.
• 2+ years of experience in architecting large scale systems with proven ability to propose and implement domain-driven technical solutions capable of scaling along with the business.
• Willingness to take broad ownership of squad responsibilities (building roadmaps, scoping) while mentoring teams on their technical and product roadmaps.
• Experience in up-levelling junior engineers and providing guidance to senior engineer via processes and setting a high bar for them to follow
• You are a proactive, effective communicator who is able to describe technical concepts to non-technical audiences and eager to learn new domains and have a strong bias towards action.
• Experience leading engineering teams and driving large-scale projects to successful completion across multiple engineering teams is a nice-to-have.

Job Description

The team you’ll be working with: Mitigation Requirements

At Wise, we’re on a mission to make financial services faster, simpler, and more accessible for everyone. To achieve our mission, we also need to safeguard our platform against financial crime and ensure our customers’ money are safe. The Mitigation Requirements team plays a critical role in this by providing a highly scalable system to orchestrate which information we need to request from our customers, and then have automations and Servicing Agents to review it.

We are developing the infrastructure that provides teams at Wise with insights into the operational cost and risk associated with their ownership of the Wise product. This empowers them to enhance the product, reducing Wise's cost for customers and enabling a smoother experience when additional information is required from them. The infrastructure also enables automation of Servicing processes through a rich API in a distributed environment, and it is the core connection between customers and our Servicing agents.

What we expect from you

As an Engineer Lead, you'll be instrumental in building and maintaining robust and scalable backend systems. You’ll collaborate closely with the team on feature implementation and issue resolution, as well as plan the team's growth. You'll also play a key role in cross-team collaboration, essential for building and growing our platform for other Wise teams and iterating over the team's vision. This includes documenting at the appropriate abstraction level to scale the adoption of our developments. Qualifications

• You have strong, hands-on technical experience in OOP Languages (Java) and modern technology stacks on technologies such as REST APIs, microservices, distributed systems and CI/CD pipelines - you will have to complete technical interviews to showcase your knowledge.
• You have proven experience in leading and mentoring software engineers, as you enjoy helping others grow and succeed.

Job Description

The team you will be joining: Personal Onboarding Verification

The Personal Onboarding Verification team is part of the Global KYC and Onboarding Squad. The team responsible for KYC (Know Your Customer) procedures that our customers have to go through before they are compliant to start using our products. The team's responsibility is the whole onboarding verification for individuals, which spans end-to-end from triggering certain checks, through information and document collection flows further to automated and manual review (including in-house ML models), and up to making the final decisions on the customer onboarding.

As the Engineering Lead for Personal Onboarding Verification team, you will:

About the role

We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to build and scale Wise's price comparison platform.

Comparison is about transparency—helping customers understand the real cost of sending money and why Wise is the better choice. You'll own the systems that collect pricing data from competitors and make it accessible across Wise, powering comparison tools and enabling data-driven decisions.

This means building robust scrapers, reliable data pipelines, and APIs that teams depend on. Accuracy and trust are non-negotiable.

You'll join the Marketing-Platform team in the Onboarding & Scalable Growth squad. We build the systems that unlock and optimise digital marketing and CRM, enabling £30+ million in marketing investment with proven ROI.

What you’ll do

• Build the backbone: backend systems and APIs that power Wise’s comparison experiences.
• Make scrapers feel “magical”: help define the roadmap for using LLMs and proven techniques to make data collection more stable, faster to evolve, and easier to scale.
• Turn competitive pricing into a real-time advantage: expand and strengthen our competitive intelligence system across 100+ competitors in money transfer.

What we’re looking for (Must have)

• 5+ Years of working as a software engineer
• Solid knowledge of relational databases and designing data models for correctness and performance.
• Experience building distributed and concurrent systems (e.g., Kafka or equivalent).
• Strong engineering fundamentals: testable code, unit + integration testing, and pragmatic testing strategies.
• Clear communication: able to explain technical decisions to non-technical partners.
• A product mindset: you prioritise customer outcomes and use data to guide decisions.
• Comfortable working independently on ambiguous problems, taking end-to-end ownership.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with scraping technologies at scale and maintaining data quality/accuracy.
• Experience building backend systems with Java or Kotlin (or another JVM language).
• Experience with Spring (or similar JVM frameworks).
• Experience operating data-heavy systems with strong observability (monitoring, alerting, data quality checks).
• Experience with measurement/attribution, marketing platforms, or comparison products (not required).
• Fintech or regulated-environment experience (not required).

Job Description

We are looking for a highly accomplished Senior Engineering Lead to take the helm of one of our core teams within the Identity Risk Platform squad.

We're looking for a talented Software Engineer to join our team and take on a critical role in optimizing and extending our Microsoft Business Central (BC) environment. In this high-impact position, you will contribute to the configuration, customization, and integration of BC to support seamless business operations. You'll play a key role in building robust integrations with third-party applications, managing the underlying infrastructure, and leading our migration to the cloud-based version of BC. This role is ideal for a strong full-stack engineer with expertise in ERP systems, particularly Microsoft Business Central, who thrives on tweaking configurations, deploying updates, and ensuring reliable data flows across our ecosystem.

What You'll Do

• Configure, customize, and extend Microsoft Business Central using AL (Application Language) or C/AL, including building and maintaining custom pages, reports, and extensions to meet business needs.
• Design, develop, and deploy integrations between Business Central and third-party applications via APIs (e.g., OData web services, REST APIs), enabling data synchronization for workflows like inventory, finance, and CRM.
• Manage and optimize the Microsoft SQL Server database that powers Business Central, ensuring data integrity, performance tuning, high availability, and compliance with best practices.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions for efficient deployment, testing, and versioning of BC customizations and extensions.
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and external vendors to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and deliver solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
• Lead the planning and execution of our migration from on-premises Business Central to the cloud (SaaS) version, including data migration, configuration transfer, and minimal downtime strategies.
• Uphold security, reliability, and monitoring standards for BC environments, including role-based access, audit trails, and proactive issue resolution.
• Participate in on-call rotations as needed to support production systems and contribute to process improvements for faster incident response.
