What you'll do

Design and build real-time decision pipelines to determine optimal inventory placement across the fulfillment network.
Implement end-to-end features for Pack & Hold, Returns Positioning, and Racking capabilities.
Analyze and deconstruct complex inventory state problems across multiple integrated systems.
Make technical tradeoffs regarding system design, component selection, and database architecture.
Develop automated solutions to streamline the delivery of positioning services and improve operational outcomes.
Design deployment processes that minimize downtime and include proactive alerting for failure detection.
Mentor junior engineers and provide actionable feedback during code and system design reviews.
Participate in 24/7 on-call rotations to resolve complex production incidents.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
6+ years of professional experience in the practice area.
Proficiency in Java and the Java Springboot framework.
Experience with backend databases such as Spanner, NoSQL, or Postgres.
Experience with RESTful services, event-driven applications, and AWS/GCP services.
Familiarity with containerization technologies like Kubernetes and Docker.
Knowledge of object-oriented design and application design patterns.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey technical information to nontechnical audiences.
