What you'll do

Design, build, and operate data integration platforms using Airflow, Python, and Spark.
Build and maintain batch and orchestrated pipelines to connect the planning platform to enterprise systems.
Configure and extend the SaaS planning platform to support merchandise and forecasting workflows.
Develop curated datasets and semantic models in BigQuery to deliver reporting in Looker.
Own data quality, reconciliation, and observability by building monitoring and validation systems.
Design and ship AI agents to automate and augment planning and data workflows.
Champion AI-enabled software development practices to accelerate velocity and improve code quality.
Break down complex system designs into smaller tasks for junior engineers to execute.

What we're looking for

Must be willing to work onsite at the Nordstrom Seattle office a minimum of 4 days per week.
Bachelor's or master's degree in an engineering discipline, preferably computer science, or equivalent.
8+ years of professional experience delivering quality software with a focus on data and integration engineering.
Proficiency in building batch and orchestrated pipelines using Apache Airflow, Python, and Apache Spark.
Expertise in cloud data warehouses like BigQuery for building curated datasets and data models.
Strong SQL and data modeling skills for designing schemas and transformations for analytics.
Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating third-party or SaaS applications.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and cloud services like GCP, AWS, or Azure.
Experience with enterprise SaaS planning or supply chain platforms like Toolio, O9, Anaplan, or Blue Yonder (preferred).
Experience developing reporting dashboards in Looker or a comparable BI platform (preferred).
Practical experience with AI-assisted software development tools like Claude or GitHub Copilot.
Proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis).
Experience with system design, architecture, and scaling for data-intensive systems.
Domain knowledge of merchandise planning, assortment planning, or demand forecasting (preferred).
