As a Sr. Site Electrical Engineer on the Ground Systems team, you will support the development and deployment of reliable electrical power infrastructure for Leo Ground Gateway and Telemetry, Tracking, and Control sites. You will design mission-critical power distribution systems, including single-line diagrams, load calculations, and resilient architectures featuring standby generators, automatic transfer switches, uninterruptible power supplies, and energy-storage systems. Your daily work involves reviewing vendor design packages for code compliance, creating commissioning procedures, and performing field troubleshooting for international installations. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define requirements for antenna ground stations across diverse countries and utility standards. Key technical tasks include designing grounding, bonding, and surge protection for sensitive electronics while ensuring infrastructure integrity against power fluctuations. This role addresses the challenge of providing stable power for a global network of satellite communication gateways.
Design electrical power-distribution systems including single-line diagrams, load calculations, and equipment sizing for mission-critical infrastructure.
Develop resilient power architectures using generators, ATS, UPS, and energy-storage systems for locations with unreliable utility service.
Design grounding, bonding, surge protection, and lightning protection for sensitive electronics and communication equipment.
Review vendor design packages and as-built documents for technical accuracy, constructability, and compliance with local codes.
Create commissioning plans, inspection procedures, and functional test protocols for global site installations.
Perform field troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for electrical installation, power quality, and equipment integration issues.
Define electrical requirements for antenna ground stations across diverse countries and varying utility standards.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
7+ years of experience in electrical engineering.
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.).
Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum.
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (preferred).
Experience with developing electrical requirements for antenna ground stations across diverse countries and utility standards (preferred).
Experience with field troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of electrical installation and power-quality issues (preferred).
