Senior Prototyping Software Engineer

What you'll do

• Design and build end-to-end functional prototypes to explore new home product concepts.
• Integrate multimodal sensor systems including cameras, microphones, and environmental sensors into hardware.
• Develop perception, sensor fusion, and on-device intelligence pipelines for home use cases.
• Write low-level firmware and develop applications using RTOS to bring up custom hardware.
• Apply machine learning models to solve problems in perception, context awareness, and user intent.
• Create polished, high-quality user interfaces and interaction models suitable for executive demonstrations.
• Rapidly prototype systems combining custom hardware, firmware, and software into functional proof-of-concepts.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of hands-on experience designing, building, and integrating systems that span both hardware and software.
• Proficiency in Swift, C/C++, and/or Python for systems-level or embedded development.
• Strong foundation in mathematics including linear algebra, probability, statistics, and signal processing.
• Experience with embedded systems, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and low-level device drivers.
• Experience applying machine learning techniques to on-device problems like perception and sensor fusion.
• Proficiency in hardware fabrication skills such as CAD design, 3D printing, and PCB layout/soldering.
• Ability to develop polished user interfaces using frameworks like SwiftUI or UIKit.
