As a Sr Product Software Engineer on the Playback Services team within the Media Engineering organization, you will build high-performance, stable, and scalable backend systems for enterprise deployment. You will lead architecture discussions, author technical proposals, perform root cause analyses, and mentor other engineers while participating in an on-call rotation to support production services. Your daily work involves developing critical infrastructure for media playback, content selection, device customization, and antipiracy technologies to ensure high-quality delivery across streaming, linear, and theatrical channels. You will utilize Go, Python, C++, or C to manage large-scale high-availability services while leveraging asynchronous programming models and threading. The role requires expertise in public cloud providers, Git, Jenkins, Docker, and messaging systems like Kafka or Kinesis. Additionally, you will use observability tools such as Datadog, Splunk, and Grafana within an Agile environment.

What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or a comparable field of study.
5+ years of experience crafting backend architectures and delivering backend applications in a production environment.
Validated knowledge of operating large-scale high-availability backend services using Go, Python, C++, or C.
Understanding of async programming models, threading/concurrency, and core computer science fundamentals like data structures and algorithms.
Experience operating within public cloud providers such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
Proficiency with source control systems, CI/CD pipelines, Git, Jenkins, and Docker.
Experience with messaging technologies (Kafka, Kinesis, SQS), caching technologies, and observability tools like Datadog, Splunk, or Grafana.
Knowledge of Agile/Scrum practices and strong written and verbal communication skills.
