What you'll do

  • Develop ship power and controls systems through multi-disciplinary engineering tasks and project management.
  • Perform reliability and risk assessments on designs, methodologies, and manufacturing processes.
  • Execute systems engineering tasks including requirements analysis, decomposition, and specification development.
  • Conduct modeling, simulation, and calculations to validate designs against customer requirements.
  • Review and approve vendor equipment documentation, drawings, manuals, and software models.
  • Support vendor qualification testing and provide technical leadership for assigned systems and diagrams.
  • Interface with Navy customers and internal departments to resolve technical issues during manufacturing and sea trials.
  • Develop process improvements and cost-out initiatives using Lean Six Sigma principles.

What we're looking for

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent degree is required.
  • A Master's degree in Engineering or P.E. is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Power and Controls Engineering is required.
  • Senior level requires 5+ years of experience; Principal level requires 12+ years of experience.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a government security clearance.
  • Strong Project Management skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Project are preferred.
  • CAD skills, power system troubleshooting/testing, electrical software modeling, and MBSE experience are preferred.
  • Experience with Matlab/Simulink, software development, data architecture, and Lean Six Sigma training are preferred.
