Sr. Mobility System Engineer – Algorithm , Leo Customer Terminal joins the Leo Customer Terminal team to develop core algorithms for mobility terminals providing satellite connectivity. Working in a multi-disciplinary environment, you will develop pointing and tracking algorithms, evaluate and fuse inputs from GNSS, IMU, and MAG sensors, and create simulation tools and models to validate software and hardware designs. The role requires proficiency in programming languages such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Matlab, or PowerShell within Linux/Unix environments. Candidates should possess experience in systems design, automation, and complex telecommunication or satellite communication systems. This position addresses the challenge of maintaining seamless connectivity for mobile users via a low Earth orbit satellite network.

What you'll do

Develop pointing and tracking algorithms for mobility terminals to connect with LEO satellites.
Evaluate various sensors and fuse inputs from GNSS, IMU, and MAG systems.
Create simulation tools to validate software and hardware components.
Build models to validate various mobility terminal-related algorithms.
Integrate software packages in collaboration with engineering teams and validate designs through field measurements.
Perform in-field tests and validation of different customer terminal architectures.
Ensure all delivered work meets technical, functional, performance, and regulatory requirements.

What we're looking for

Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or granted asylum/refugee status for export control compliance.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
5+ years of programming experience in at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Matlab, or PowerShell.
5+ years of experience deploying and operating in a Linux/Unix environment.
3+ years of systems design, software development, operations, automation, and process improvement experience.
3+ years of experience in SW/HW development with at least one recent year in an architectural or system role.
3+ years of experience in development for complex telecommunication, high speed digital, antenna, and/or satellite communication systems.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes.
