Sr. Mgr., Functional Engineering Management - Acoustics & Imaging Systems leads cross-discipline engineering teams to deliver mission-critical capabilities and improve technical performance across a portfolio of programs. This leader holds division-level accountability for program execution, where they align people, processes, and tools to drive milestones while ensuring segment-wide interoperability. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing staffing plans, recruiting, performance management, and coaching high-performing teams. Lead cross-discipline engineering teams to deliver mission-critical capabilities and improve technical performance across a portfolio of programs.
Manage functional execution for scope, schedule, budget, and technical quality across projects and proposals.
Implement an integrated operating model with clear role ownership, decision rights, and accountability.
Establish repeatable engineering processes, common tools, and shared metrics to ensure segment-wide interoperability.
Execute workforce planning, including recruiting, hiring, performance management, and succession planning for high-performing teams.
Drive disciplined engineering rigor and verification practices to reduce rework and improve first-time-right execution.
Enable Agile delivery and rapid prototyping while maintaining strict safety and mission assurance requirements.
Partner with Program Management and Chief Engineers on proposal activities, cost estimates, and manpower planning.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree with 12 years of experience, a graduate degree with 10 years, or 16 years of experience without a degree.
Broad management and cross-functional leadership experience, including leading experienced professionals or leaders of leaders.
Demonstrated success driving execution across multi-discipline engineering teams in a matrixed environment.
Experience with workforce planning, staffing strategy, recruiting, and talent development.
Experience with EVMS/CAM responsibilities and proposal development, including BOE generation.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (minimum Secret).
Active Secret clearance (preferred); leadership across multiple engineering disciplines; experience in mission-critical environments; familiarity with Agile-at-scale and digital engineering (preferred).
