Sr. Manufacturing Automation Engineer, Supply Chain Org joins the manufacturing team to design, integrate, qualify, and support automation systems that improve quality, yield, throughput, safety, and cost performance. This hands-on role involves developing equipment specifications, layouts, and functional requirements while troubleshooting robotics, machine vision, automated inspection, conveyance, material handling, sensors, fixtures, and controls. The engineer performs critical tasks including factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, commissioning, and root-cause analysis to ensure system reliability. Key technical competencies include experience with PLC-based control systems, HMIs, industrial networks, motion systems, and manufacturing data systems like MES or ERP interfaces. The role addresses the challenge of turning automation concepts into reliable manufacturing capabilities for new product introductions and production scale-up by applying Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to optimize high-volume manufacturing processes and ensure robust system performance across the network.

What you'll do

  • Design and integrate automation systems including robotics, machine vision, conveyance, and material handling.
  • Develop equipment specifications, layouts, and functional requirements for manufacturing applications.
  • Execute equipment qualification, factory acceptance testing (FAT), and site acceptance testing (SAT).
  • Perform root-cause analysis to troubleshoot automation failures and production interruptions.
  • Monitor and analyze system performance metrics such as uptime, cycle time, yield, and throughput.
  • Implement Lean and Six Sigma tools to improve manufacturing quality and operational efficiency.
  • Support new product introductions by evaluating automation readiness and executing implementation plans.
  • Create technical documentation including operating procedures, training materials, and preventive maintenance requirements.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Manufacturing, Industrial, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing automation, industrial automation, controls, robotics, or related engineering disciplines.
  • Experience supporting automated equipment from concept and design through commissioning, qualification, and production support.
  • Hands-on knowledge of industrial robotics, machine vision, conveyance, material handling, and automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience with PLC-based control systems, HMIs, industrial networks, sensors, actuators, motion systems, and machine safety.
  • Experience with FAT/SAT, commissioning, performance qualification, troubleshooting, and structured root-cause analysis.
  • Proficiency in English for reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Ability to work effectively with technical, operational, and supplier stakeholders while managing multiple priorities.
