As a Sr Lead Software Engineer - Python Engineering within the Chief Technology Office, you will join an agile team dedicated to building and delivering secure, stable, and scalable market-leading technology products. Your daily responsibilities include developing high-quality production code, reviewing and debugging peer code, and providing technical guidance to teams, contractors, and vendors. You will drive the adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices, establishing validation standards for secure coding and automated testing. You must possess advanced skills in Python, along with proficiency in Java, JavaScript, and cloud-native environments. The role requires expertise in the Software Development Life Cycle, CI/CD, and application resiliency. You will solve complex design problems by building SDKs, frameworks, or developer platforms while ensuring responsible AI use and data sensitivity.
Develop secure, high-quality production code and perform code reviews and debugging for other team members.
Provide technical guidance and direction to business teams, contractors, and external vendors.
Drive the adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Establish measurable validation standards for secure coding, peer reviews, and automated testing.
Influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations through key architectural decisions.
Serve as a function-wide subject matter expert in specific technical areas of focus.
Advocate for firmwide frameworks, tools, and Software Development Life Cycle practices within the engineering community.
Apply automation and continuous delivery methods to improve the value of the software development toolchain.
What we're looking for
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and validating outputs for security and performance.
Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity and coaching others on compliant usage.
Advanced skills in Python.
Proficiency in automation, continuous delivery methods, and all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
Demonstrated proficiency in a technical discipline such as cloud, artificial intelligence, or machine learning.
Practical cloud-native experience.
Advanced skills in Java and JavaScript (preferred).
Experience building SDKs, frameworks, or developer platforms for other engineering teams (preferred).
Experience with AI-native tooling and AI-assisted development workflows (preferred).
Demonstrated code shipped to production that leverages AI or builds AI capabilities (preferred).
