What you'll do

Develop secure, high-quality production code while reviewing and debugging code written by others.
Drive adoption and governance of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Establish measurable validation standards for secure coding, peer review, and automated testing.
Provide technical guidance and direction to business teams, contractors, and vendors.
Influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations processes.
Serve as a subject matter expert and advocate for firmwide engineering frameworks and tools.
Build and operate 24x7, tier-1 online services.
Promote the use of leading-edge technologies and responsible AI practices within the engineering workflow.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Strong core engineering skills including hands-on coding and system design for modern enterprise systems.
Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Rust, Java, Go, or C++.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools to improve code quality and delivery.
Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity and security controls.
Proven track record building and operating 24x7, tier-1 online services.
Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight.
Familiarity with open-source projects in the OLAP/data stack such as Apache DataFusion, DuckDB, or Apache Arrow Flight SQL (preferred).
