Senior Lead Software Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer

What you'll do

• Develop secure, high-quality production code and perform code reviews and debugging for other team members.
• Provide technical guidance and direction to business teams, contractors, and external vendors.
• Drive the adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
• Establish measurable validation standards for secure coding, peer reviews, and automated testing.
• Influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations through key architectural decisions.
• Serve as a function-wide subject matter expert in specific technical areas of focus.
• Advocate for firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices within the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Coach senior engineers on compliant usage patterns for responsible AI in engineering workflows.

What we're looking for

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages.
• Demonstrated experience leading the use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools for coding, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity and secure handling of inputs/outputs.
• Practical cloud native experience.
• Background in Data Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, or a related field (preferred).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business narratives (preferred).
