The Sr. HW Technical Program Manager joins the Hardware, Infrastructure Management, and Fundamentals Engineering team to drive the development, planning, and execution of holistic cross-functional product development and launch strategies for new cloud hardware. This role involves leading a virtual team of functional leads across hardware, software engineering, sourcing, supply chain, networking, and datacenter operations to establish a clear Plan-of-Record and meet critical milestones. The successful candidate will manage technical risks, coordinate with internal and external partners, and ensure cross-functional alignment for data center infrastructure deployments. Key responsibilities include risk management, scenario planning, and communicating updates to senior management. Required skills include experience in engineering or technical program management, data analysis, and supplier management for ODMs, SIs, and IHVs. The role focuses on optimizing cloud infrastructure through high-quality hardware manufacturing and improved planning processes.
Lead virtual teams of functional leads to document and execute a clear Plan-of-Record for new product development.
Drive the planning, execution, and technical leadership for holistic cross-functional cloud hardware development and launch strategies.
Identify technical risks and manage mitigation efforts during the new product introduction process.
Communicate project status and risk escalations to senior management to support high-level product decisions.
Ensure cross-functional alignment across engineering, sourcing, supply chain, and datacenter operations for infrastructure deployments.
Develop and operationalize processes to improve organizational effectiveness in meeting business goals.
Track key performance indicators to monitor and measure engineering impact and performance results.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's Degree and 4+ years of experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development (or equivalent).
2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
Ability to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
7+ years of experience in a leadership role driving technical HW and SW projects from requirements through launch (preferred).
3+ years of experience providing communications and program updates at an executive level (preferred).
Experience with supplier management for ODMs, SIs, and IHVs (preferred).
Ability to create and operationalize processes to improve organizational effectiveness and coach other Program Managers (preferred).
Demonstrated technical design, problem solving, debugging, and communication skills (preferred).
