The Senior HW Technical Program Manager joins the Hardware, Infrastructure Management, and Fundamentals Engineering team to manage new cloud hardware development. In this role, you will lead virtual teams of functional leads across hardware, software engineering, sourcing, supply chain, networking, and datacenter operations. You will be responsible for establishing a clear Plan-of-Record, identifying technical risks, and driving the execution of holistic cross-functional product launch strategies. Day-to-day tasks include managing complex project schedules, ensuring cross-functional alignment, and communicating risk escalations to senior management. The role requires expertise in program management tools, technical design, problem-solving, and debugging. You will navigate ambiguity to manage infrastructure deployment while coordinating with internal and external partners. Key competencies include supplier management for ODMs and SIs, as well as the ability to track performance results through key performance indicators.
Lead cross-functional teams of hardware, software, sourcing, and supply chain members to develop a clear Plan-of-Record.
Drive the end-to-end development, planning, and execution of launch strategies for new cloud hardware.
Identify technical risks and manage mitigation efforts during the new product introduction process.
Communicate project status, risks, and recommendations to senior management to support high-level decision making.
Ensure cross-functional alignment and track progress toward milestones for data center infrastructure deployments.
Use program management tools to maintain a common understanding of the plan with all stakeholders.
Design and operationalize processes to improve organizational effectiveness in meeting business goals.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's Degree and 4+ years of experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development (or equivalent).
2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
Ability to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
7+ years of experience in a leadership role driving technical HW + SW projects from requirements through launch (preferred).
3+ years of experience providing communications and program updates at an executive level (preferred).
Experience with supplier management for ODMs, SIs, and IHVs (preferred).
Ability to create and operationalize processes to transform organizational effectiveness and coach other Program Managers (preferred).
Technical design, problem solving, debugging, and communication skills (preferred).
