The Sr. AI Data Engineer/Architect joins the Enterprise Data Architecture and Data Platform team to lead the design, governance, and evolution of enterprise data and AI architecture capabilities. This hands-on role involves defining reference architectures, building prototypes, and establishing reusable design patterns for agentic, analytical, and model-driven workflows. The architect will manage end-to-end patterns for data ingestion, transformation, semantic modeling, retrieval, model orchestration, and production deployment. Key technologies include AWS, Snowflake, Amazon Bedrock Agent Core, and Snowflake Cortex, alongside Python, APIs, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code. The role solves complex enterprise problems by ensuring scalable, secure, and governed data readiness, providing consistent standards for metadata, lineage, and observability across the organization's data and AI initiatives within a highly regulated financial services context.
Lead the architecture, design, and hands-on implementation of enterprise data and AI solutions from concept to production.
Define end-to-end architecture patterns for data ingestion, transformation, semantic modeling, and model orchestration.
Build prototypes and proof-of-concepts to validate architecture decisions and evaluate emerging technologies.
Establish reusable design patterns for agentic, analytical, and model-driven workflows using cloud-native platforms.
Design and guide the integration of AI capabilities with enterprise applications, APIs, and Snowflake.
Define standards for metadata, lineage, governance, observability, and lifecycle management across all data solutions.
Evaluate tradeoffs across tools and platforms to recommend solutions aligned with enterprise strategy.
Drive the adoption of enterprise architecture standards and best practices across all data and AI initiatives.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
8+ years of experience in data, platform, or solution architecture, including designing and delivering enterprise-scale cloud data and AI solutions.
Hands-on experience with generative AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics solutions, including at least one use case delivered end-to-end into production.
Strong experience with AWS and Snowflake, including architecture and implementation patterns for governed data access, analytics, and AI integration.
Experience with Amazon Bedrock Agent Core and Snowflake Cortex (preferred).
Deep understanding of modern data architecture, including ingestion, transformation, semantic modeling, metadata, lineage, data quality, governance, and production deployment.
Strong technical skills in Python or another modern programming language, along with experience in APIs, orchestration patterns, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to influence architecture decisions and work across technical and business teams.
5 years of experience working in Asset Management or a related financial services or highly regulated industry (preferred).
