TL;DR · Senior Electrical Engineering Manager

The Sr. Electrical Engineering Manager (CRM) joins the Cardiac Rhythm Management Electrical System Design team to lead a group of 10–15 engineers. This role involves shaping the functional strategy for electrical system design and translating high-level directions into actionable plans for developing life-saving implantable and external medical devices. You will oversee the full product lifecycle, including architecture definition, requirements development, circuit and PCB design, firmware and ASIC integration, characterization, verification, and manufacturing transfer. Key technical competencies include mixed-signal electronics, RF/telemetry, EMI/EMC, MRI safety, and ultra-low-power design. You will ensure compliance with standards like ISO 14708 and IEC 60601 while managing technical execution, resource planning, and organizational health to deliver high-reliability, safety-critical electronics for cardiac therapies.

What you'll do

  • Define and advance the electrical engineering functional strategy and translate it into actionable plans for the team.
  • Lead a team of 10–15 engineers through the full product lifecycle from architecture to post-market support.
  • Recruit, coach, and evaluate team members while providing ongoing performance feedback and career development.
  • Own resource planning, staffing, and prioritization to balance near-term program delivery with long-term capability needs.
  • Partner with program managers to align electrical engineering commitments with cost, scope, and schedule objectives.
  • Ensure the delivery of robust electrical designs that comply with medical device standards like ISO 14708 and IEC 60601.
  • Guide root-cause analysis and technical decision-making for complex issues involving power, reliability, and manufacturability.
  • Drive continuous improvement in design practices, documentation quality, and test automation.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant technical experience with 5+ years of managerial or people leadership experience.
  • Advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant technical experience and 5+ years of managerial or people leadership experience.
  • Unrestricted U.S. work authorization.
  • Experience leading electrical engineering, product engineering, hardware integration, or systems integration teams in a regulated product development environment (preferred).
  • Experience developing Class III medical devices, active implantable medical devices, or other high-reliability safety-critical products (preferred).
  • Technical breadth across PCB design, analog/mixed-signal electronics, RF/telemetry, ultra-low-power design, and EMI/EMC (preferred).
  • Experience with MRI safety, implantable device reliability, or standards such as ISO 14708 and IEC 60601 (preferred).
