Senior Director, Shared Capabilities & Engagement Experience

What you'll do

• Drive the API surface management strategy including standards, versioning, lifecycle governance, and NFR enforcement.
• Build and evolve common service APIs and the Confluent Kafka event streaming platform.
• Lead the Integrations team to build a unified external engagement surface for partner connectivity.
• Operate a self-service external subscription portal for partner onboarding and API credential provisioning.
• Own the Internal Developer Portal to provide service catalogs, Golden Path templates, and onboarding automation.
• Design and implement AI-native automation for credential provisioning, environment setup, and self-healing pipelines.
• Enforce GitOps as the source of truth for all infrastructure, configuration, and application state.
• Lead and develop high-performing engineering teams while establishing standards for test-first development and observability.

What we're looking for

• Degree or equivalent experience and typically requires 13+ years of software engineering experience.
• 6+ years of diversified leadership, planning, communication, organization, and people motivation skills.
• Significant experience leading platform engineering, shared services, or developer experience teams at scale.
• Experience leading and developing engineering managers.
• Deep fluency in GitOps principles and tooling, including Infrastructure as Code and Terraform.
• Experience building or operating internal developer portals and external developer-facing API products.
• Strong distributed systems and event streaming background with Kafka or Confluent Platform experience at production scale.
• Experience designing production-grade AI-native platforms, including agentic workflows or LLM-integrated services (preferred).
