Senior Director, AI Models Software Development

What you'll do

• Define the vision and strategy for developing large foundation models across natural language, computer vision, and multimodal domains.
• Lead a team of researchers and engineers in training, fine-tuning, evaluating, and deploying large foundation models at scale.
• Identify opportunities to enhance platforms and infrastructure supporting large-scale model development with cross-functional teams.
• Communicate the results, capabilities, and impact of foundation models to both internal and external audiences.
• Establish best practices for the quality, reliability, fairness, and ethical use of AI and large foundation models.
• Mentor, coach, and inspire a diverse team of researchers and engineers in machine learning fields.

What we're looking for

• A PhD or a master's degree with equivalent experience in AI, machine learning, computer science, or a related field.
• Proven track record of building and leading world-class research and engineering teams focused on LLMs and foundation models.
• Experience with state-of-the-art foundation models in the areas of LLMs and vision.
• Deep knowledge in model alignment, fine-tuning, and current research trends.
• Hands-on expertise in training large language models at scale.
• Strong publication record in top-tier research venues related to machine learning.
• Technical expertise in natural language processing and generative AI.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and mentoring skills for cross-functional teams and diverse researchers.
