TL;DR · Senior Automotive Software Program Manager

Sr. Automotive Software Program Manager The Sr. Automotive Software Program Manager joins the Embedded Business unit to own and drive the execution of business-critical software programs within the Automotive Infotainment (IVI) segment. This role involves managing the end-to-end lifecycle for SDKs, software suites, and integrated solutions that enable new SoC product launches. The manager will lead cross-functional release planning, define program roadmaps, and coordinate with silicon design, platform management, and validation teams to ensure hardware milestones are met. Key responsibilities include resolving critical defects, managing escalations, and streamlining software execution processes. Candidates should possess expertise in SoC architectures, the software development lifecycle for application frameworks, and AI-driven automation tools. The role addresses complex technical challenges in the automotive space, specifically focusing on integrating OS support, toolchains, and safety/security components into high-performance infotainment platforms for OEM and Tier-1 customers.

What you'll do

  • Manage the end-to-end execution of software programs for Automotive Infotainment (IVI) platforms, including SDKs and integrated software solutions.
  • Lead cross-functional release planning for software stacks involving hardware, firmware, middleware, and application teams.
  • Develop and maintain software program plans, roadmaps, and dependency tracking across various technical components.
  • Report software execution status, risks, and mitigation plans to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Design and improve standardized software execution processes such as integration gates, defect triage, and release documentation.
  • Resolve critical defects and integration issues by coordinating actions across internal teams and external partners.
  • Manage high-priority escalations by forming tiger teams and driving root-cause corrective actions.
  • Align IVI software roadmaps with AMD’s technology roadmaps to support strategic automotive customers.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of relevant experience in software program management, software development, or embedded systems.
  • Extensive experience leading large-scale software programs for SoC-based systems, preferably in Automotive IVI domains like Android Automotive, Linux, Xen, or QNX.
  • Strong background in the software development lifecycle for SDKs and application frameworks, including integration and release engineering.
  • Solid understanding of SoC architectures and common IP blocks such as CPU, GPU, display, audio, connectivity, and safety/security.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent strategic programs while balancing competing priorities across customers and product lines.
  • Demonstrated experience with program metrics, dashboards, executive reporting, and resource planning.
  • Exceptional communication skills to align diverse stakeholders and provide clear messaging on software status, risks, and decisions.
