JOB TITLE: Principal Engineering – Automotive Platform SW
The Principal Engineering – Automotive Platform SW joins the Automotive Software Platform team to oversee the entire lifecycle of automotive software projects from concept to production. This role involves analyzing requirements, preparing schedules, and coordinating cross-functional engineering tasks to ensure quality and timely delivery. You will act as the chief technical counterpart for ADAS programs, interfacing with OEM executives to translate customer needs into platform requirements. Key responsibilities include leading technical workstreams for RFIs, managing SoC and platform software integration, and resolving critical technical issues. Required skills include proficiency in C, C++, Java, or Python, alongside experience with QNX, Linux, or Android. You will navigate complex automotive systems, including compute platform architectures, middleware, and safety frameworks like ISO 26262 and ASPICE.
Lead and manage automotive software engineering projects from initial concept through production and maintenance.
Act as the chief technical counterpart to OEM engineering leadership for ADAS related programs.
Coordinate internal hardware, software, and systems teams to meet customer milestones and technical requirements.
Translate customer needs into specific platform requirements, features, and technical solution proposals.
Identify and mitigate project risks while driving the resolution of critical technical issues.
Represent the customer's priorities and constraints in internal roadmap discussions and management meetings.
Mentor cross-functional teams to prioritize tasks and solve complex system issues effectively.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 8+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 7+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
4+ years of work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
Extensive experience in software engineering, including project management and leadership roles (preferred).
Strong background in automotive systems engineering, including compute platform architecture, embedded SW stacks, and AD stack optimizations (preferred).
Solid understanding of automotive safety and quality frameworks like ISO 26262, ASPICE, and cybersecurity standards (preferred).
Proven experience as a customer-facing technical leader and ability to lead cross-functional teams in a matrix organization (preferred).
