As a Specialist, Information Security Systems Engineer, you will join the engineering team to design, develop, integrate, and maintain software applications that implement defensive cyber security capabilities. You will be responsible for integrating multiple cyber security methods into a cohesive system security architecture while supporting policies to monitor and maintain that environment. Your daily work involves collaborating with developers, systems engineers, and vendors to evaluate secure systems, networks, and database solutions. The role requires proficiency in tools such as Splunk, Elastic, Tenable, NetApp Ontap Storage, Windows Active Directory, Redhat Linux, OpenShift, and Kubernetes. You will utilize scripting languages including YAML, Java, Python, Ansible, Bash, SQL, and PowerShell within GitLab Enterprise environments. This position focuses on the technical challenge of building robust security infrastructure involving multi-factor authentication, encryption, vulnerability analysis, and endpoint protection.
Design, develop, integrate, and maintain software applications that implement defensive cyber security capabilities.
Install, configure, and troubleshoot industry standard tools like Splunk, Elastic, Tenable, and Windows Active Directory.
Write scripts using frameworks such as YAML, Java, Python, Ansible, Bash, SQL, and PowerShell.
Manage software configuration and deployments using CI/CD tools like GitLab Enterprise.
Evaluate and integrate secure products and technologies from commercial vendors into the system architecture.
Assess and design secure systems, networks, and database solutions to ensure robust security.
Integrate multiple cyber security controls into a unified and effective security architecture.
What we're looking for
Active US Top Secret/SCI security clearance with continuous evaluation within the last 5 years.
Bachelor's degree and minimum 4 years of relevant experience, a graduate degree and 2 years of experience, or 8 years of experience without a degree.
Experience designing, developing, integrating, testing, and maintaining software applications for defensive cyber security capabilities.
Proficiency in scripting frameworks including YAML, Java, Python, Ansible, Bash, SQL, and PowerShell.
Proficiency in CI/CD tools such as GitLab Enterprise with excellent configuration management skills.
Ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot tools like Splunk, Elastic, Tenable, NetApp Ontap, Active Directory, Redhat Linux, OpenShift, and Kubernetes.
Experience assessing security controls using NIST 800-53 (preferred).
