As a Software Quality Assurance Engineer I, you will join a collaborative engineering team dedicated to building high-quality software experiences for customers worldwide. Working within a distributed group of twelve engineers, you will partner with developers and product managers to ensure every release is secure, reliable, and performant. Your daily responsibilities include designing and executing test plans to identify defects early in the development lifecycle, developing automated test scripts to increase coverage, and performing root-cause analysis on bug reports. You will integrate automated tests into continuous integration pipelines while documenting quality guidelines. The role requires proficiency in Python, Java, C++, JavaScript, or Go, along with experience using PyTest, JUnit, Selenium, or Postman. Additional technical skills include Git version control, CI/CD pipelines, Linux command-line utilities, Docker, and RESTful web service validation.
Design and execute test plans to identify software defects early in the development lifecycle.
Develop automated test scripts using modern programming languages to increase coverage and reduce manual effort.
Perform root-cause analysis on bug reports in partnership with software developers.
Integrate automated tests into continuous integration pipelines to ensure high product reliability.
Document testing procedures and quality guidelines to maintain engineering standards across the team.
Help shape the organization's automated quality strategy from day one.
What we're looking for
Meet one of the following: a Bachelor's degree with 0 years experience; an Associate's/Bootcamp/Certification with 1 year experience; or a high school diploma with 2 years experience.
Education and work experience must be in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Hands-on programming or scripting experience in Python, Java, C++, JavaScript, or Go is required.
Foundational understanding of software quality assurance methodologies, including test case design, functional testing, and defect tracking is required.
Experience writing automated test scripts using libraries like PyTest, JUnit, Selenium, or Postman and familiarity with Git and CI/CD pipelines is required.
Exposure to API testing tools and RESTful web service validation techniques (preferred).
Basic understanding of Linux operating systems, command-line utilities, and container tools like Docker (preferred).
Familiarity with Agile methodologies, sprint workflows, and collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence (preferred).
