What you'll do

  • Architect and evolve the Energy Services platform to ensure scalability, resilience, and security.
  • Design and build high-scale services and APIs supporting millions of users.
  • Provide strategic technical direction for the Energy Services platform roadmap.
  • Lead technical discussions, write specifications, and conduct code and design reviews.
  • Mentor peers and champion engineering best practices across all energy services.
  • Manage third-party integrations and partner with external energy providers to define product objectives.
  • Conduct early development investigations and build prototypes for innovative features.

What we're looking for

  • 10+ years of industry experience as a software engineer.
  • 3+ years of experience as a tech lead or architect.
  • Extensive experience building and scaling mission-critical distributed systems on the JVM.
  • Proven track record of driving architecture and technical roadmaps across multiple teams or services.
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems fundamentals, including consistency, latency, throughput, and failure modes.
  • Experience with Java/Kotlin, Spring, gRPC, and durable workflow orchestration platforms like Temporal.
  • Proficiency in DevOps practices, cloud-native services, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • A BS degree or equivalent work experience.
