The Software Engineering SMTS joins the Authentication Platform team to maintain the Production IAM stack, a tier-0 dependency for production infrastructure. You will work as an individual contributor to implement features across the Kerberos, TOTP, and FIDO2/WebAuthn service portfolio. Daily responsibilities include writing clean, well-tested backend code, contributing to design specifications, and participating in an on-call rotation for high-availability services. You will utilize Java, Go, or C# to build distributed services in Public Cloud environments like AWS or GCP using Kubernetes and modern CI/CD pipelines. The role requires expertise in identity protocols including LDAP, SAML, and OIDC. You will solve complex security problems by implementing Zero Trust principles, managing credential-handling designs, and ensuring 4+ nines availability for critical identity verification services.
Write clean, well-tested backend code in Java, Go, or C# to deliver features across the Authentication Platform.
Implement identity and federation protocols including Kerberos, LDAP, WebAuthn/FIDO2, and TOTP.
Contribute to design specifications and research spikes for new features alongside senior engineers.
Perform code reviews and automated testing with a security-first mindset for tier-0 services.
Debug production issues and handle common alerts during a high-visibility on-call rotation.
Monitor platform telemetry including metrics, logs, and traces to maintain 4+ nines availability.
Author and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and Root Cause Analyses for incidents.
Partner with internal stakeholders to answer integration questions regarding owned features.
What we're looking for
Minimum of 5 years of software engineering experience.
Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, or a related field (Bachelor's degree is acceptable with additional years of experience).
Strong programming ability in Java, Go, or C# with production experience building backend services.
Working knowledge of at least one identity or federation protocol including Kerberos, LDAP, WebAuthn/FIDO2, TOTP, SAML, or OIDC.
Experience building, deploying, and debugging distributed services in a Public Cloud environment (AWS or GCP) using Kubernetes and modern CI/CD.
Solid grasp of software fundamentals including data structures, testing, code review, source control, and Agile execution.
Ability to debug production issues in a distributed system using logs, metrics, and traces.
IAM specialist depth, security hardening, compliance exposure, and operational on-call experience (preferred).
