JOB TITLE: Software Engineering PMTS
The Software Engineering PMTS joins the Event Monitoring team within the Trusted Services organization to build a unified observability platform for metrics, logs, and traces. You will lead technical designs, manage end-to-end feature delivery, and drive cross-team alignment on data ingestion and query performance. This role requires an AI-first engineering approach, utilizing tools like Claude Code for scaffolding, testing, and debugging. Key responsibilities include developing internal automation agents and mentoring engineers. You must possess full-stack proficiency in Java, React, and Lightning Web Components. Technical requirements include experience with distributed systems, OpenTelemetry, Kafka, HBase, ClickHouse, and Grafana. You will solve the complex problem of providing customers with a single, coherent location to troubleshoot behavior across multiple services while maintaining high-cardinality metrics and distributed tracing.
Lead the technical design and end-to-end delivery of features from architecture to production operation.
Drive cross-functional architectural decisions and align with partners on data ingestion and query performance.
Define instrumentation standards, data onboarding, and access control for the Unified Observability platform.
Use AI coding assistants to scaffold services, generate tests, draft migrations, and debug production issues.
Build internal tooling and agents to automate repetitive engineering tasks like PR triage and log analysis.
Mentor senior engineers and raise the engineering bar through design reviews and clear technical communication.
Shape team practices, hiring processes, and engineering culture as the organization scales.
What we're looking for
10+ years of software engineering experience.
3+ years in a technical leadership or principal-level role.
Hands-on experience with Claude Code or similar agentic coding environments.
Full-stack proficiency in Java (API design, data modeling, service-layer architecture) and front-end frameworks like React or Lightning Web Components.
Experience operating distributed, multi-tenant systems with knowledge of OpenTelemetry, Kafka, and time-series databases like HBase or ClickHouse.
Background in observability, monitoring, telemetry pipelines, SRE/on-call tooling, or incident response systems (preferred).
Familiarity with OpenTelemetry and OCSF standards, including query languages such as PromQL (preferred).
Experience building data-visualization UIs and leading technical strategy across platform and product organizations (preferred).
