The Software Engineering MTS joins the Network Visibility and Telemetry team within the Infrastructure Strategy Datacenter Operations organization. In this role, you will build and ship production-grade software to automate systems services across storage, network, and server infrastructure. You will enable the collection of infrastructure telemetry, ensure alerts are generated for necessary actions, and design complex systems where AI agents integrate into human workflows. Key responsibilities include evaluating code for security and performance and maintaining shared system context. Required skills include experience with distributed services in Clojure, Java, JavaScript, or Python, as well as Jenkins, REST APIs, and Linux. You must demonstrate an AI-first approach using tools like GitHub Copilot or Cursor, alongside proficiency in configuration automation tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
Build and ship production-grade software using modern engineering practices and AI development tools.

Evaluate code for correctness, quality, security, and performance.

Participate in an on-call rotation to support infrastructure systems.
What we're looking for
A related technical degree is required.
At least 4 years of experience supporting a codebase for distributed services in modern programming languages like Clojure, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
Experience with automation of systems services and processes.
Experience in publishing and consuming REST APIs.
CI/CD experience with Jenkins.
Knowledge of Linux (RedHat) including configuration, packages, services, daemons, shells, and troubleshooting.
Experience with configuration automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, and/or Chef.
Advanced prompt engineering skills and experience using AI tools in development workflows.
Experience with monitoring and alerting of network or storage infrastructure in a high-availability datacenter environment (preferred).
Experience with container orchestration systems like Docker and Kubernetes (preferred).
Experience with Terraform, Helm, and Spinnaker (preferred).
Strong Network Engineering skills including SNMP, BGP, OSPF, and LAN switching technologies (preferred).
Experience with application databases and document stores like Elasticsearch or Cassandra (preferred).
